Hello:

I have been in the process of restoring my 1970 Banana yellow, 440-6 pack bee for several years. As of this weekend I just completed the paint. The car is a 57,000 mile North Carolina car that was parked in 1981 after the motor was damaged. Thanks to Indy Cylinder Head, and Dave Klutz the original motor was saved and the car has been undergoing a rotisserie restoration, including being chemically dipped.

I have many areas needing guidance, but my primary need at this point is finding someone that can restore the original tail panel. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Jim

Hi Jim!
Welcome aboard.
Thanks for joining the Forum!

Need pics of the tail panel Jim
Can you provide pics?
Also, have you considered a replacememt tail panel?
I DO understand your desire to keep it "all-original"

Do you mean the "Block" was "Hot-tanked" to remove any and all rust/sludge/paint?

Welcome, I love yellow cars and can't wait to see pics of yours. :headbang:

Looks like mine is a twin to yours? FY1 with black "C" stripe. I am learning this site, I will try to upload pictures as found

Thanks for your reply. I am referring to the aluminum tail panel.

As for the engine, it tossed number one rod and damaged the block.

Welcome aboard! Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for you. I'm sure someone will! Good luck!
