Newbie with a 69 Roadrunner

LOOK on the side of the block behind the starter, you'll have casting date there.
also on passenger side oil pan frame rail theres a sequence of numbers and a letter. that will tell you alot also.

I'll check it out this weekend and let you know what I find. Thanks.

And if you post it we can tell you what it means.

Here are the numbers I was able to find:
Date 10*31*69
block casting 2536430-7
and near the oil pan on the passenger side, I couldn't make out all the digits..here is what I was able to figure out
0D1??111
The ?'s are two digits I just couldn't make out.

Does the partial # tell anything?
I was able to determine it's a 440...but what's it out of and what was the HP rating???
Thanks

10-31-69 is Oct. 69 which was into the 1970 model year and too late for this engine to have been factory installed in a 1969 model car.

0D1??111 is the partial V.I.N. of the car it was installed in at the factory.

0 is for 1970 which means the engine was in a 1970 model year car.
D is the assembly plant designation which was Belvidere, ILL. and in 1970 they were building C bodies there, no B bodies. The rest of the digits are the last 6 of the V.I.N. Some C bodies could have had an HP engine as an option but the blocks for the L.Ps and the HPs are the same but had different internals.
