No reverse lights...

i'm under a '69 charger with no reverse lights. They work if you jump the harness, but there is no continuity in the switch. Its a practically new switch (which doesn't mean much these days). I seem to recall reading somewhere that the rooster comb is different between the '68 and earlier. I don't know if the transmission is original to the car. Just wanted to get some clarification on the comb before i take the switch out to test it.

its the little rake or comb inside the transmission that activates the switch. automatic

There should be a date code on the trans. I had a similar problem with my 72. Turns out the trans is a 1968, no wonder the 3 prong switch wasn't working...
