It's a half hour but the guy is mildly entertaining, compared to most Physicists. Anyway, the man has what most people lack and that's common sense.

The slides are entertaining. He may have a Nobel Prize, but what he just did was not science either.

I think we just have to wait to see what happens and see for ourselves. Fortunately for him, he will be dead long before anything happens. Probably many of us too, but our kids and grandkids will find out.

Throw enough money at it and you can convince a lot of people of just about anything. In fact, sometimes it doesn't even take money, take Scientology for example! There is BIG money in solar panels and windmills, all you have to do is ensure profit exceeds expenses. And there are starving scientists out there who will say anything for a buck and formulate the "facts" to back it up. With enough money you could convince half the population that 2 plus 2 does NOT equal 4.

I agree with everything he said except Chinas one child policy government shouldn't decide that. There are millions of men with out any chance of marrying in China. Not to say marrying is for everybody, I'm sure many will agree. That's looking at the trees not the forest. To many unattached men are trouble.

Spoken like a good Catholic! Just wondering if you have a better idea to control population growth! There's an old saying, "if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem"! Millions starving in Africa 'cause they can't keep it in their pants! the Catholic church condemns birth control and Islam says they should have multiple wives. But other than a few missionaries and nuns you don't see the church doing much about feeding them. Nor do you see Arab oil money helping out either. What the planet needs is a ******* good plague !!

Not Catholic, believe in birth control. China was heavy handed and the way they do causes social problems. Africa will have problems as far as the eye can see. Wish there was a way to solve these problems but it is not going to happen.

Like I said in another thread,
science & theory are predictions in many cases, not facts,
it's a best wild *** educated guess...

His is as good a guess as any of the Green Grant $$$/Scientist/Globalists
all on the take, in it for the $$$$
Global Warming {yeah in 100+ years 0.8*f}
Climate Change as the globalists proclaim/lie/stretch to extremes {BS}
"we're all doomed, the sky is falling, seas are rising, every other animal will be extinct or are dying"
crowds of profiteers/eco-Nazi's/exploiters/naysayers/doomsday-er/fear-mongers

I differ with this in that there is a distinction between science, theory and prediction. One of the key elements of science is being able to test predictions, hypotheses, and theories, and then letting the evidence and framework of knowledge guide to the next level of predictions and hypotheses.

Fortunately we are in a situation where the predictions are model based, and give a time dependent solution that can be tested. Since we do not know the future, I suggest we wait to see how things turn out. We can still make our decisions based on what is the best knowledge we have at any point in time, but we will eventually know if the science that is being done today is valid or not. Arguing about it now is pointless.

There are big $$$ involved in this, but I don't think the individual scientists are necessarily the beneficiaries of the big dollars.

At least he had proof of what he was saying, and not cartoons and models of what he felt could happen. Unlike the climate fear mongers, who have dead lines for their predictions, that always seem to be late. Now bud, dose this at all make you happy, or are you going to hit the red X of disapproval ?

There are big $$$s involved. That is what the BIG DEAL is.

I had a long good talk with a long time friend some time back about this whole deal.
The bottom line from our conversation was that (he thought) we should proceed with spending just incase it is the right thing to do.

I hear this alot. It is an unfounded panic. It is a fear. --If we don't act now it will be too late.

The "scientific community" is not in our face everyday. The "media" is.

Nope no Red X today for this thread,
it wasn't the typical well you know :realcrazy: or some flyby insult nonsense

I gave you a like even :poke:

The weather thing started back in the 1950's. The U.S. and the U.S.S.R. were trying to change weather maybe weaponize it? They hired people to look at weather. This was good for weather people. Well somewhere in the late 1960's the military money dried up. They had to find new funding so in the 1970's they claimed global cooling, remember the Time cover you've seen last few years. Well that morphed into global warming. Global warming has morphed into climate change.

Your obsessed with me aren't you ? Why do you have a problem with me posting my observations, facts and opinions like anyone else ? You "savaged" my choice of candidate all last year, but just because I post a negative fact for yours, so you just can't deal with it. In reality, there are a few things that trump has done that were good, as well as bad. But be my guest, throw your worst at me, I really don't care what you have to say. I spent a career dealing with jerks, so have at it son.

NO, BUT IT SURE SEEMS LIKE
that you're completely obsessed with what I think
or what my opinions are...
I am free to express them honestly too...

You asked & I obliged...

I will continue to call BS, BS when I deem it necessary....
I've dealt with many other childish &/or easily offended jerks too:thumbsup:
as I'm sure you will continue to be BUTT-HURT, go to your safe space
or just ignore me if you don't like it...

This topic will only end with the end of the world. (when all the water drains off the edge.)

As long as we have enough -02- to type with let's do just that.:poke:

Our 24 year old son is a physicist. He has both common sense and a great personality.

So what you're saying is, when the swamp is drained, we have a better chance of finding the missing car keys? :p

Well if they're for a Ford Focus they're the one's we lost in December.

If science could predict tomorrow's weather tomorrow and get it right climate change might make scence. Thats a big might.
