I have a 73 charger that have new body mounts, new balljoints, new trans mount and new spring bushens front and rear, the car makes a popping noise any time it is on unlevel roads or coming out of my tilted driveway. I have checked all bushen bolts and they are all tight.I have checked every bolt under the car and can't find anything. when I put it in gear and start backing out of the driveway I have the popping sound it seems to be up front and under the front seat I installed new brushens on the front torsion bar seals and rubbers go.what do you guys think can be giving me this noise?

look for wear on speedometer cable..or anything else close to driveshaft. It's associated with movement so somthing is rubbing ...are the wheels straight or turned when moving?/ Forward or reverse or both?? If when the wheels are cocked..look for signs of wear in wheel well or suspension.

Also check the u-joints.

Do you have headers? My headers bang on the torsion bars on un-level surfaces. Just an idea

Good idea! Also, while you're checking the U-joints (front one anyway) grab ahold of the transmission yoke and move it side-to-side. There's a bushing in the tail shaft that can wear out (behind the trans rear seal).

My 69 has a minor pop click or similar when backing out of unlevel driveway first start of the day only. Wheels turned moderately right, backing at a walk. Seems like it is something unloading in the right front. 20 plus years . Never found it. Checked all of the above and more. Good luck.

Only while in motion? Can you hear it with just engine rpm, with trans engaged and rpm with break applied?
Strut rod bushings? Maybe a wheel weight hitting an a-arm? Re-torque wheels? Beauty ring flexing?

If the wheels are turned all the way, one way or the other, the steering stops are touching and they pop or make a metal to metal sound without having a smear of grease on them...

Does it do it just once, then its gone? If so, might be the torsion bars shifting. I have heard this on other mopars, there is a bit of front to back play between the lca's torsion bar mount point and the rear mounts. If its continuous, the only thing I can think of is the parking lock in the trans may not be fully disengaged when you back up.

That's what I believe it is the torsion bars moving back and forward, I replaced all of the bushings on them along with the swaybar bushings, if it is my torsion bars I don't know what else I can do to stop the noise. it does it only when backing out of my drive way that is at a angle( tilted to one side.) at the end of the driveway.

If I understand this right, the popping noise occurs when the body of the car flexes? Not sure what brushens are, maybe "bushings"?
This happens in reverse?
The noise is from some stress that is relieved when two adjoining parts slip slightly. This can be from a loose connection or a worn out part. The steering box flexes a bit during normal operation, sometimes the bolts back out slightly and can allow the gearbox to make noise. Sometimes the mounts for the steering box weaken or crack. They will make more noise in reverse than going forward. Also, the mounting stud/pin for the lower control arm passes through a welded tube/hole in the K member. Over time, that tube/hole can flex, crack and elongate. This allows the LCA to flex and move around, again it is more likely in reverse than when moving forward.

Check it all out and report back.

I haven't checked yet, but I believe it is in the torsion bars because I can feel the popping under the front seat also, I am getting under the car today and check all of the places noted.I just installed a new steering box about three months ago because it was worn out, didn't notice any cracks but will check again along with the other places .After 28 years of no major problems the old boy is showing it's age.
