Hey guys I was wondering if anybody knew of anyone in the chicagoland area that could work on a 1984 Jaguar XJ6. Long story short, I let my mother take the car out, she took a speed bump going 50 and broke the tranny mount and the guys we took it to ended up breaking my engine mounts :( . Now its been sitting for a while which is a real shame because it only has 16K original miles (with all documents to prove it), I bought it for $400 off an old woman, and it has accumulated a cr@p load of rust...any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

I would think any competent mechanic could replace the mounts.

Guy #1 doesn't sound that competent :edgy:

no he wasnt...barely spoke english and in some thick slavik accent just said "we had to break mount"...so much for an AAA certified shop. But yeah, no one wants to work on the car because of its age, what a bs reason, it's really becasuse they're afraid to work on it cuz they're incompitent
