Not a typical 68 Charger

I am SO glad that this is NOT another electric car build.
I remember years ago in Hot Rod magazine...They had a 67 or 68 Mustang that was converted.
B O R I N G.
Gasoline. Gears. AWD traction.

I know what you mean, in the process of selling of selling my house, actually it’s sold, so yep, not a lot of time for the fun stuff.

But some progress is better then no progress, just keep chiseling away and you’ll get done:thumbsup:
Yeah, once I started in the master bedroom and bath it was the primary focus. Did not like sleeping in the guest room and trucking down the hall to get my stuff from another closet.

Sounds like a fun build, I'll be watching.

loving this build so far!!! Between the brakes/engine/awd this is gonna be a fun car! Great Work so far!

Getting the front inner fenders done. Sent off the cross member for powder coat.

How vertical is that steering shaft coming out of the rack?

Inner fender wells done. Got the cowl off and found some presents. Overall not too bad in there.

How are you separating the spot welds, drilling them out/spot weld cutter? Do you plan to use cleco pins to put the cowl panel back on? Never removed a large panel, just curious encase I have too at some time.

I did/do use a spot weld cutter. As for the fitment, I use different types of vise grips if the panel has a flange. I have used a spot welder or punch holes in a panel then plug weld it in place. For the cowl I will do the spot weld as I can get around all of the pinch weld areas.

Cowl in. Firewall in. Not perfect but after a little bodywork it should be good enough. A couple more frame inserts and welds I will get the front end up in the car. This will allow me to do trans crossmember and floor/tunnel.

Got the front mocked up. Need a little more clearance at full compression but no big deal.

Got to work on the rear for mock up but inner fender wells were in the way so they had to go.

Some things you find on such a overhaul do and don’t surprise you. The 1/4 patch not so much, but the fiberglass and bondo from the inside to patch the lower window rust is new to me.

While I was cutting I figured I might as well start the panel replacement while I wait for parts.
