I'm looking at automatic overdrive options for my 69 GTX. Other than gear vendor what's an other option. Must be able to take at least 650 HP.

GM adapter plate with 200R, 700R and all the others including electronic. Sadly little real Mopar transmissions except adapter for small block LA transmissions with lack of strength. 200R fits like it was made for Mopars with little to no cutting. Use search now that you know what to look for.

I looked and looked like the 200R was a little light on strength. I want something that will handle up to 650HP.

Check out the adapters for a 46RH tranny. It is a small block tranny but is designed off of a 727 with a 4th gear. They can be built to hold plenty of power. If I stay sisy stick I will be going for the 46rh.

4l80e without question. don't even think of anything else. 700R4 behind a Chrysler big block? :ciao: :sSig_lol3:

4L80E is really expensive once you get everything to make it work.

I'm pretty confident 2004Rs can be had that can handle just 650 hp. Lotta turbo Buicks in this world.

Are you wanting the od unit to survive the 650 or just 1,2 and 3... otherwise you're only answer is the one you don't want

I know a guy that installed a 618 in his 70 Cuda....

Think I'm going with the gear vendor shortie & 727, can't bear to put any GM sh*t in my car.
