Oil leak normal?

Old folks revert to diapers in their latter days. Our cars are over 50 now,I guess they can have unexpected leaks too.
Had plenty of them that leaked over after a few years of age and had plenty that didn't. Believe it or not, my 66 /6 didn't leak and a /6 were notorious for the spark plug tubes to be leakers! My 70 383 Challenger was another that was dry all the way up until I sold it in early 98 and so were many others. It was the ones that puked their guts that made up the difference for the ones that didn't lol

ChryCo used to throw in a 'vibration' pad on top of the valley pan just under the intake. Kinda reminded me of a pad.....

Do some gear work and I think you would change your mind.....rear ends always smell bad to me.

Probably no worse than what ChryCo used under the intake like mentioned above.
Yup,noise abatement. Beginning of Big Gov’t!! But, if I remember, not on HP engines(?)

It wasn't just for noise but it also kept the pan from vibrating and causing it to crack.

So i just checked my oil level after a car show and noticed it was a quart overfilled! Im wondering it that caused the leak.

I was told long ago "If it don't leak,It ain't a MOPAR".
My truck 318 leaks,so does my 63 and my 65. All with fresh seals.Well I guess the truck was 6 years ago.
I will tell you what you can do.This is for small drips that show up on your garage floor.(Not puddles) Make a little tin pan that connects to the 2 bolt holes of your converter cover plate. In that pan get a women's maxi pad and place inside. When you bolt it up the curve of the tranny base will help hold it in place.Don't laugh it works. Change the pad when you change the oil. It will keep the floor and the tranny clean ! If you want I can take pictures of mine.
I know this thread is old but do have a picture about that pan you made?

Photo was on my 67 Dart race car. It also was a shield for the cable shift cable.
I couldn't find anything else. Nothing fancy but worked for minor drips
