Oil Pan Woes

Here's what you can do for notching the K frame with the engine in the car.

First I drilled a row of holes.

Then with a little help from a slicer, then vice grips, break out the section.

Then shape and smooth it out useing a couple of types of die grinders.

An update I forgot to add after installing this pan. The motor mounts did settle enough that the center link started to touch. Not recommended for the early B bodies. I found an alternative pan which are quite rare.

K frames changed in 73’, and I don’t think it will according to a review on Summit Racing.

Is it not exactly like a #971 oil pan​

Just got my oil pan it it DOES NOT FIT A 1973 DODGE CHARGER IF YOU PEOPLE AT SUMMIT DO YOUR RESEARCH THE K MEMBERS ON A 73 CHARGER ARE BIGGER AND NO OIL PAN BUT A #971 WILL FIT BUT YOU EXPLAINED IT TO ME THIS IS A #971 AND CLEARLY ITS NOT YOU SHOULD GET SOMEONE IN THERE THAT KNOWS WHAT THERE DOING INSTEAD OF WAISTING PEOPLE'S TIME AND MONEY
