One or two purple hornies?

I plan to run my 318 as a stock motor (for awhile anyway) but would like to hear that throaty glass pack sound. My question is, what would actually sound better to the ear: A) a single 2 1/4 inch exhaust system with one 18" slip-on purple hornie or B) a dual 2 1/4 inch exhaust system with two 18" slip-on purple hornies? I wonder if there would be any difference, sound-wise that is? Are two pipes equivalent to stereo versus mono? I will worry about performance issues next year when I begin the rebuild.

I'm glad to know they are on the loud side and that's exactly what I wanted to "hear" (no pun intended). This will be a radio delete build and I want to enjoy the "roar" of my stock 318!
