Thought I would ask before I acted this time? I would really like to put a one piece trunk floor in my 70 Bee to avoid the center seam. Question is; will this fit without having quarter panel or tail panel off? Looks to me like a lot of people are choosing the two piece,is this becuse the one piece is to large to fit without cutting?

you do have to remove taillight panel to get in one piece panel, which is alot of work, but working over the taillight panel is a killer.hope this helps

I guess I will have to weigh my options on this one. I can only imagine how many spot welds and braces that would have to be removed in order to pull that tail panel

Not, as many as you would think, you will be much happier with the fit and finish of a one piece trunk floor and it will look much nicer.

Talk with NorthernDave on that one. He just put in a one piece, with the quarters cut up. Barely fit it in, even with the front of the pan shaved at the front. You just don't drill out the spot welds at the fill panel and slide in a new one piece like a pizza pan. You have the large hump/rise in the pan for the axle to contend with. The quarters will have to be shaved up far enough to slide in angled from the side, and then onto dealing with getting it aroung your wheelhouses. I put in a 2pc. in my 69' RR and 68' Coronet. If you're good at fit up/welding you can make it very presentable back there. You can tell it has a center seam from the inside, but I guess it all matters which way your going with the car. Myself, I'm no trailer queen owner and there will never be red ropes around it with mirrior's sticking underneath. But if your looking for 100% factory look and the car will be showing off it's mesmerizing trunk pan, put in a one piece.

I've got to replace mine also and I purchased the whole thing from DVAP. I'm considering cutting it down so that I'm not having to cut the tail or quarters. I'll still have seams on the sides, but it's going to be a driver, not a trailer queen.
