I would really like to paint the rim centres from the grey to a gunmetal. What type of prep work is the best.

Just do it and join the club!!!!

The light in the garage doesn't do any justice, but the rims match the car color damn near perfect and I bought the rims before I got the car painted. I get asked alot if I had the rims done to match and I tell them no, so go for it, you will like it!!

First off, awesome car and you need to give me a call if you ever make it to B.C. I'm in Nelson.

Secondly, I painted up a set of early TTs with the same idea in mind. Going for more of the magnesium look as opposed to polished aluminum. I did some really light sanding on the centers followed by a good wax & grease remover. Masked off the outer rims and primed. I found a colour by VHT which was a high heat iron manifold paint and I was really happy with the result.
