The car was set up for a passenger mirror so I purchased what I thought was the correct style mirror. It wont aim correctly in that the mirror does not seem to have enough travel. Any thoughts on how to improve this travel internally?

Thanks MF

I’ll try and post a picture later today.

Sounds about right.... they're about as useful as teets on a bull...
Bulltits? At least I am not alone. So why have a mirror if it can’t be set up correctly? Is this because it’s not original? The alignment holes were….

The mirror should be mounted farther forward . Should be viewed through the vent window. This may be your adjustment issue. Plus, they are noisy when located back like that. My '69 Darts mirror, drivers side is viewed through the vent, and it is quiet when driving. I installed a passenger side the same, viewed through the vent. My '72 Darts driver mirror, is behind the wing vent, somewhat difficult to see and is very noisy when driving. Both driver's are in the factory location, so they moved them around. I am going to relocate the '72's mirror at some time. I like the passenger side mirror for lane checks and backing up on curved driveways. Relocation, fill holes, repaint that top portion of the door. Shouldn't even show up when done properly.

Yes as Wayne indicated the mirrors are in the FACTORY location. So they were useless out of the gate? WTF?

It's in factory position... just useless.

Just a simple suggestion. Go to someplace that can do shoe modifications build the soles up on both. Move your seat back far enough and your mirror will work better for you. Or add blocks to the pedals.
One of the biggest lies out there is ( I am from the Government and here to help). I never worked for the Government thank goodness.

More for looks than function. If you place it far enough back to see it well, you can't adjust it to get a good view. Too far forward and you are looking through the vent frame besides, it looks bad that far forward.

I guess back in the day we all drove with our arms out the windows holding the mirror. So maybe it’s really not a mirror but a handle for cruising. In your mind think of a box of cigarettes rolled into ones sleeve on his right arm as it hangs out the window with his hand, holding the mirror, maybe add in skull and crossbones tattoo or a pair of checkered flags. Think Ken Miles one of my inspirations albeit not a Chrysler man?

Progress. Just do this. Take a look at that mirror, and where it's situated. Then, go look at a modern auto and look where the mirrors stick WAY out from the doors. That's the difference.
