Only mid-late 70's Mopar I've owned was a 78 road runner 318 OD 4 speed. I really liked driving that car EXCEPT FOR the Lean Burn, and the world's smallest carb that was on it.

I owned it during the time they were putting MTBE in the gas down here. That car ran SO lean (how....lean....wasit?) It ran SO LEAN it actually BUCKED at highway speeds!!!!!

The lady that bought it came down and drove it back to Michigan (I think it was). She said the farther from Texas (read MTBE) she got, the better the car drove.

Acme, I missed the sarcasim, my humble apollogies.
I took to it poorly in part due to being verbal beat up on ownership of a late B body model car and never hear the end of it. Mostly by MoPar guys.

zacly what i thought when i saw this thread. editing now that i have read the thread completely.Dont need any new enemys. that orange rr looks bad ***. i had a 75 charger black with white interior,cragars and a 400. that thing was a highway flyer. but i got to vote for the 74 satellite as it still had old sckool looks as the body hadnt changed yet

i got a 75 roadrunner 400 big block sunroof car for sale if anyones interested. just posted it in the for sale section will try and post pics as soon as possible. they are some cool looking cars. fun to drive, i just enjoy my 68 barracuda fastback a little bit more. ya its an a-body, but its a blast!

For me it's the 73,74 Charger and the 79 Magnum. I don't know why people think the engines lost so much power. What happened was the power ratings got changed from gross to net horse power. Instead of rating the engine at the flywheel, no alternator, power steering, A/C or drive line. Engines became rated at the wheel. Other wise net is the true power to mov e the vehicle with. Today crate engines are rated gross, vehicles net. For the new HIME to put 425 hp to the rear wheels. That is making about 575 gross hp.

Is there anyone who's interested in a set of original 15" alloy-rims or knows someone who needs some? They belong to a Chrysler Cordoba 1st Gen. I think.
Width is 6" or 6,5"
Backspacing is 4" as far as I know.

I always kinda dug the '75 or '76 (?) Charger Daytona. Now don't you wing car guys give me any grief. I know that it's a rotten orange to your shiney apples. I didn't name the car. I just liked the color combos and the somewhat disco graphics.....

I don't think I had ever seen a '75 Roadrunner, but it's really kinda cool.

For b bodies of the era i would go with 74 charger, 79 cordoba 300, or magnums or the daytona chargers) . but if i had to pick any mopar of the era it would be the aspen r/t..
and just to comment abouth the desirability of these cars, i think the fact that they are still affordable to most automotive enthusiasts is enough reason for anyone to look towards these cars. i would not argue the fact that the earlier cars ar cooler in most aspects but i dont think the quality of the car is any better or worse than the early cars.
but i dont like the lean burn crap or all the smog equipment either , but thats an easy fix..
just my opinions, hope noone was offended..

I like the Cordoba,Magnums and 73-76 Road Runners. Here is a picture of the Doba I have now got it for way Less than $2,000.00 in the same it is now.

My first car was '76 Charger. But I also remember making a 3 hour round trip highway blast in triple digits with a '78 318 powered 4-door Fury. But that '76 still holds the place in my life as my first car.

Late B-Body Quality

As for some of the comments of ACME A12 and others, All of the late B-Bodies that I've owned:
I have not seen a Ford or a Chevy of that era, before or 10yrs after that fit together as well as any of the Dodge Magnum's or Chrysler 300's I have or had? The build quality of these cars is unsurpassed, the only draw back was the lack of factory horse power.

The lack of factory horse power on these cars is a very easy fix!
I have and have had a lot of Chrysler products, none of the older ones fit together like the later ones do! I can latch my door just by pushing it in, with out slamming it. Same with my trunk and hood. Try that with a never wrecked Trans-Am or a Mustang of the same year:rolling: not happening!

I have to agree. Even the Caprices we had we had to slam the doors on but not my Doba
