Petaluma Ca ‘70 GTX??

I’m here, I’m here!!! You say he might have the original block? Interesting. I assume that’s the only pic he had? I can’t tell if it has a front plate. Is this a phone pic of a picture? Is there a clearer version? I’m curious if this is actually my car, it looks like it was pretty nice. The red paint under the primer when I got it didn’t look like it was terribly nice.
Travis..
I’m 100% sure that’s the car.
Photo taken in Petaluma California on Peggy Lane. Estimate pic taken 86-88ish.
FC7 under the red paint.
4 speed 3.54 U code.
Had a 440 with a offy 2x4 intake.
I don’t remember it being #s matching?
I called a Freind who called his brother who called a previous owner who sent me the pic.
Previous owner told them he (might)have the original motor???

Very cool, it sounds like it took some serious networking to get this done. I very much appreciate it. In the pm I sent you was the last of my vin. If the guy thinks he may have the block, and you have the ability to have him check, it may be something to consider. If you talk to any of these guys, see who got the parking tickets and didn’t pay them. When I registered it after purchase, I had to pay those tickets which is how I found out it was last reg’d in Petaluma. California is serious about collecting fines.
Travis..

Another tidbit about the car. When I got it, there was no carpet in it, but there was a chunk of orange(?) shag sandwiched between the gas pedal and the floor. I imagine that was in there since the 70s??
Travis..

LOL the parking tickets belonged to a guy named Rudy.
He was always getting trouble with cars.
I was going to trade him my grandmothers 63 impala coupe straight across for GTX.
The deal fell apart though.
I see my friend soon and get some info on what he was talking about with the motor.

Sounds good, I really appreciate it. If anyone has any more pics, or any stories or other info, that would be cool too.
Travis..

@SpareParts heres a pic of my car from ‘91 not long after buying it. In the pic you posted it had an air grabber hood. When I got it, the guy had sold the hood but he gave me a standard RR/GTX hood that was F8 green. He also pulled and sold the rear springs and Dana. He grabbed a wrecking yard 8 3/4 and springs from some random b body to make it a roller for me.

Not much of the Org. car left
be cool to bring it back & get the OE block/motor
worth a bit more value wise...

I used to frequent Petaluma, do some cruises & round up street races
one of my older sister Candy lived there, with her 2 kids
with her then BF, Ulf (from Tasmania) Computer geek...
like 1986 to 1990-ish, go to where they filmed 'American Graffiti' cruise
we'd hang out at the Dairy Queen (?) or A&W drive in IIRC

I used to drive either my
AA1 Buffed Silver 68 RR Black 6bbl lift off hood, 479cid (very Fast)
or a 69 Y2 Sunfire Yellow, Air Grabber hood, 440 SRT-6bbl 4 speed,
11 second car with slicks
or my 1st 68 Charger R/T GG1 w/black top & interior,
Later it was painted 77' Corvette bright yellow paint
anything from a 6 pack to a dual inline 4bbl/Holley's to 6:71 blown RB's,
727tf high stall speed, anything from 3.55:1 to 5:13:1 rear gears,
ready to run
15x10 SS/T Crager's on all of them, N50/15s in the rear, 15x6 w/70's fronts
or
also maybe my 68 396 RS/SS Camaro Hugger Orange, pretty quick, sleeper
or my notorious 67 Camaro RS Aztec Sliver w/Black Rally stripes,
w/468cid LS7 roller motor (very fast), 14x32s, tubed, tinned & a crapload of fiberglass
(that car got a nasty reputation)
or my 71 T/A Ram Air 4 speed, White with blue stipe on the hood, low
fun cruiser car, like high 12's, beat many a supposed fast cars

only photo I got is one with my 69 Y2 RR daily driver, would be like 1982-ish (?)
& 67 Camaro RS silver/black in the garage behind it
in front of my house in Concord
