how far in should pilot bushing be installed into crankshaft for a 4 speed trans ??

Flush with the flange. But it will take ten more replies to confirm this.

Here’s the first one not flush with the flange but flush with recess in the crank

I believe Beekeeper is right,been a while since Ive put 1 in. Put it the freezer before you install it.

And here I thought I was being clever for modifying my steering wheel puller and doing this same thing last month with my pilot bushing. Somebody beat me to the punch.

The pilot should be seated with both hands on the yoke.
