Hello everyone, can a head with a slight shallow pitting in the combustion chamber be repaired and if yes, how do you do it?
a little prequel...I havent seen it in person yet, its a set of 915's one is good the one in question is pitted, The question is, assuming its shallow pitting and not at the edge of the chamber how would you repair it.A picture would really help here.
it wont cause uneven combustion temperatures and cause more damage? If it's truely light and shallow it should not be a worry. The volumetric change is inconsequential.
I'm hoping, Its a 3 hr drive from my place but, its worth it because he has a lot of other parts I can use thats worth the priceHard to tell without seeing them if they’re worth that or not.
If they’re usable cores, that’s a fair price.
Thank you Pr, I didnt think to check that, I learned somethingI had someone send me some 516’s to rebuild not that long ago.
They didn’t “look” that bad, but the water jackets were filled solid with rust.
They found some better cores.
The lesson there is........ look them over carefully.
