Hi-
I've got a 71 Charger with a 440, a recent purchase. It has a factory Mopar (old, weld-up-the-slot advance style) distributor, an MSD 6 box, and Blaster 2 coil. I recently replaced the plugs and wires. I used Summit Racing's house-brand 8mm plug wires.
The other night when I opened the hood with the engine running, in the darkness I could see that the plug wires were badly arcing! I could see the electricity running through them, and anywhere near each other or near metal, the arcs were coming out of the insulation and and grounding on any nearby surface.
What do I need to do to remedy this problem? Seems dangerous.
Thanks,
Sam
