Hi-
I've got a 71 Charger with a 440, a recent purchase. It has a factory Mopar (old, weld-up-the-slot advance style) distributor, an MSD 6 box, and Blaster 2 coil. I recently replaced the plugs and wires. I used Summit Racing's house-brand 8mm plug wires.

The other night when I opened the hood with the engine running, in the darkness I could see that the plug wires were badly arcing! I could see the electricity running through them, and anywhere near each other or near metal, the arcs were coming out of the insulation and and grounding on any nearby surface.

What do I need to do to remedy this problem? Seems dangerous.

Thanks,
Sam

I'd call Summit for a possible return/exchange. They have been very good to me for any issues I had. One time I didn't even have to return the defective part and the next day a replacement arrived.

Get your money back and then buy Firecore wires. I love the Firecore wires I use. The best out there IMO. Ron
