Wow, that's light, I'm at around 3610lbs (3860lbs with me at the track) with aluminium heads and just header extensions in my 71 R/T. What have you done for weight reduction?

It surprised me when I weighed it at the track this summer. About 150 less than I thought it would be.

It’s really a lot of little things.
Lift off fiberglass hood
No back seats, or interior panels. The dash is currently stripped of the gage cluster.
I had to remove the heater box and stuff, along with the headliner because mice got in it in storage a few years ago.
I left most of the exterior trim off when I painted the car. I took off the big honking black things off the bumpers, half the front bumper brackets. I think I will get a fiberglass front bumper this winter.

Manual steering and manual brakes save a lot of weight.

Dana 60 added weight, but then I swapped out the super stock springs for split mono leafs and that took more off.

Aluminum intake and radiator.

Headers with no other exhaust.

Light weight aluminum wheels and tires.

Of course if I drive it on the street I put the exhaust back on and heavier tires and wheels.

No windshield wipers or washer.

Just bare bones stuff

1969 Charger

4,100lbs without me, 4,270lbs race weight. 15x8 and 15x10 wheels with CR6ZZ vintage road race tires.

Engine started as a 90's "crate" 426

3.75 stroke, 4.31 bore 12.4-1 CP pistons with .043 rings GZ vacuum pump.

Milodon 31580 road race oil pan. TTI headers. Dual 3" exhaust to stock type tips.

Iron heads, I ported them. Ferrea valves, 1.4" diameter PSI valve springs. Stock iron rocker arms.

Cam motion low lash solid roller 262/262 112lsa .658 .612 at the valves.

Edelbrock 2x4 intake I converted to EFI. Holley HP efi system, flex fuel/E85. Modular/coyote coils.

Cowl plenum air cleaner.

TKO600 trans. McLeod RST clutch. S60 with 4.56 gear.

First run I slipped the clutch out at 4,200 rpm and it actually hooked but absolutely obliterated the clutch. It was slipping down the entire track and flaring on the shifts.

I let it have a good cool down and tried dumping the clutch at 3200 but it just spun. I still pedaled it and ran it out.

Shifted it normally (with clutch and lifting throttle) at 7,750rpm.

Holy sh*t that thing is making some steam. I'm getting the same 1/8 mph, but down about 4 on the top end. I'm probably 6 700 lbs lighter too.
Haven't tried the 7750 shifts, maybe that's the trick lol

Manual transmission cars will mph a little better than an auto car with the same power to weight ratio, but agree with you. INTMD8 has 1-2 mph on my 1/8 mile but almost 7 mph in trap speed.

What a great running car. Love the rpm combined with the manual tranny. That's pegging the fun meter
