Post your 11 second combos

Figured I’d post an update here after my off-season changes:

Latest time out for the big, yellow sled yielded a pair of 11.10’s @119.9mph. Short time improved to 1.52. All new bests.

The best part was after the changes to both gearing and front wheel diameter, we landed in a great place in the beams. I used to have to shave a .010 off of that last amber. Now it would appear that leaving directly on the last amber puts me right on time!

before The changes:
Front: 215/70 street radials (26.7” tall)
Rear: 28x9 PBR’s & 4.10’s (tire dia. 28”)

new setup:
Front: 27.5x4 ET Fronts (27.3” tall)
Rear: 29.5x10.5 PBR’s & 4.56’s (tire dia. 30”)

Overall effective gearing got slightly lower, as I gained approx. 200 RPM at the stripe (@ 120MPH).

Here's an update after almost 9 years since my last post in the 12 second combo area.

Disclaimer: this thing hasn't been down the 1/4 mile because there are no 1/4 mile tracks where I live but it has done a 7.56 @ 90 in the 1/8 with a 1.65 60 foot in 2500'-3000' DA which should equal a high 11 of some kind.

Sounds like it runs pretty good. I love the stock-style vibe. I doubt deeper gears will do much. Tunnel ram will help and I'd definitely put in subframe connectors. Simply porting the heads would wake it up quite a bit.

67Satty, it does look like a pretty good combination. As far as upgrades I'd hold off on the TR, a bigger solid cam may help, frame connectors are really worthwhile. If your rear tires are about 27", the 4.10 gear may be good.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Gregg Luneack at Tri City Competition cleaned up the ports in the heads for me when he checked them out for me.

The 255/60-15 M/T drag radials on it are 27" tall but I'm thinking of trying to squeeze some taller and wider 275/60-15s on someday to get a bigger contact patch so thought it would be good to go to 4.10s.
