I am looking at resealing the power steering box and pump in my 65 belvedere. How difficult is this and are there any special tools required? Any tips.

Hi- Mopar power steering box resealing should be done properly by rebuilding the box, esp on one that is so old. This is a job best done by a steering specialty shop.
it is recommended that you install a steering upgrade kit into the box when rebuilding- give you better road feel and slightly less 'power' so your steering is more responsive and less like a wet noodle. Upgrade kits are available from places like Firm Feel. (Google them)
the steering pump reseal is pretty straightforward with basic hand tools and a shop manual, although you will require a special power steering pulley puller to pull the from pulley off. Unless you are really mechanically inclined, it may be something best left for the pros. there have been a few steering articles printed in molar action over the years, you might like to reference those. It is not recommended to just put a couple of seals in your box without a thorough disassembly and rebuild- there are many seals and o rings in the box. Fortunately we have a great steering box rebuilder here in Victoria Bc. Likely one in your area as well, or call firm feel and they may know someone in your area.

firm feel stage 2 and it feels like a whole new car!!
