Hello, I am here in Germany and the 69 Satellite is my first Mopar. It has been sitting 20 years before I made a complete restoration. I put a overhaul kit on the original 2bbl carter carburetor. Now it runs, but when it's idling for a few minutes it startes banging in the rear exhaust. When I go into "Drive" it will go down in RPM or it will stall. If it's still running in Drive than it will starve when I hit the gas to start driving. Anyone got an idea what it is?
I think the carburetor is bad. What you think?

I had issues with flooding of the carb also.
Seems to me its running too rich in idle.
But not sure.

If its rich perhaps your float is set to high or your needle and seat is a dud. Do the idle screws do anything when you turn them? Are you running points?

Electronic ignition distributor or the original points / condenser distributor.
Sound like a carb problem to me though, bowl level set to high maybe.

Make sure that your timing is correct. Don't forget to disconnect and plug your vacuum advance before setting.

OK i ordered a cheap Carter BBD copy from maxpeedrods. I'll try that one to find out if it's carb or timing. Although I am pretty sure that timing is all right.
I believe that carburetor is worn. I put an overhaul kit in it but I guess there are still multiple problems. The throttle shaft is worn out, that's what I know.

Buy A new carb and be done with it.

do a fuel pressure test , volume and pressure, if its piping in exhaust would be lean
remove fuel filter and see what is in it if its full of rust and blocking
it might be back in your carb blocking jets, and make sure ignition is timed and sorted.
I would go electronic for sure , rock auto has cheap parts the shipping to Germany ??
