Okay, I feel if I've achieved enough on this car to merit a little resto thread. I've dubbed this car the backyard belvedere because I pulled it out of a backyard where it sat for 20 years and until my barracuda is put together it will live in mine. So anyway, I posted some pics of when I first bought this car last fall, so I'll post a couple of the old ones and a couple of the progress. I stripped the engine compartment myself and then a buddy and I painted it 65 light tan(no original gold color as this is a car that lives outside and I like the tan better). Powder coated the front end, installed all moog front end components, then found a good running 440/727 from a friend, then much degreasing ensued....... Finally got the motor painted and installed two weeks ago. This weekend I yanked the rear end that will get powder coated this week. New super stock springs, brake and fuel lines, shocks, etc will go on image.jpgimage.jpgin two weeks. I'll update as more progress is made, have patience with me as I only get to work on this car about every other weekend. THANK YOU ALL who have answered all my questions. I'm sure ill be bugging you guys again soon.

Looks like you are on your way to a good restoration. If it takes some time, so what. It will be worth it when it is finished.

Thanks guys!! I'm going to get it to run for now and worry about the body later. With my barracuda being in the body shop for a couple of years now, I need something to have some fun with now.

And today's progress. I'll post again once all the rear end stuff is installed!

looks good! A 440 is going RIP in that light car. Are you going for a Drag car or Original look? What are you going to do interior wise? Buckets or bench? Original? custom?
I just posed some pics of mine in my gallery, check em out. Also dont miss the Spring Fling at Woodley park in Van Nuys in several weeks.

Hey thanks! The car will look mostly original with the exception of a hemi scoop. I'm doing the interior bone stock(black) with body colored steel wheels. I'll be at the spring fling for sure. I'm hoping that tti has a show discount and I'll pick up my exhaust then. Will your car be there?

Nice car!!

Hey fellas, I'm back with a couple of pics. Today I finally got to drive this thing and it was so much fun. I ended up having to sell my barracuda to help buy a house so I am down to one car. This is why I'm doing everything assbackwards as well! Once I sold the cuda I wanted to throw this thing together so I could enjoy it. So here it is. To date I have done the following:
New driveshaft
3.23 sure grip/powder coated rear end
Super stock springs
R body disc brakes
Custom aluminum radiator
Tti exhaust
Redone gauges
Rechromed dash bezels
New interior(installing in a week or two)
New wheels and tires
Moog front end
New wiring
Rechromed/straightened bumpers
And yesterday at the fall fling moparmarks sold me this excellent grille! Thanks!!!!
And so on....
Here are a couple of pics!
