With the charger off the frame jig, was able to fit the rest of the US Cartool chassis stiffening kit - so on went the frame connectors and rear torque boxes. The frame connectors needed quite a bit of massaging to get them to fit snug, but with some patience they now fit like a glove. Also had to both remove and add material to the torque boxes to get them to fit nice, as you see from the photo. Everything is initially welded in, I will finish the welding when it goes back on the rotisserie in a few weeks.

Put the 440 block in for mock up of the TKO 600 and am in the process of cutting the tunnel to fit and make the new top piece to finish it off nice.

I finished rebuilding both the driver and passenger rear section of the rockers. Really pleased with how they turned out, strength is restored and looks better.

Passenger side...

Nice metal work going on here!
I still have nightmares about patching my rockers and blowing through with my MIG lol.

Well, got the tranny mocked up and new tunnel piece fabbed up and tacked in. Finish welding it up and then this baby goes back on the rotisserie for finish welding and body work underneath...progress.

On to the next phase. Back on the rotisserie for finish welding and body work underneath. Will be painted body colour underneath so needs to be finished nice and smooth.

Work continues, but slow progress - work getting in the way. Everything is welded in now underneath and I’m busy sanding/scuffing all the surfaces for final coat of epoxy. Then some minor body/filler work around the tunnel and couple other areas. Hope to have it back on wheels and doin the exterior body work and panel fitment in a month or so.

Took all the steel that I cut out of it to the recylers yesterday, quite a pile! :)

Been too long since I’ve posted. Work has calmed down some and I’m back to working on the car. After all the metal work on the structure of the car, I cleaned and sanded and prepped the surfaces for a final application of epoxy primer. And underneath also applied a few coats hi build primer as I begin work on smoothing out all surfaces underneath.
