quick transmission question?

I ran into a 1964 727 tranny with the serial numbers... F2464424 1160158

Of course it will need to be rebuilt to some extent, my question is are all 727's created equal... If its being rebuilt, is a core just a core.. I cant find much info on this tranny..

will it bolt up and work good against a 70+ 440 block?

the tranny is similar,64 it a flange driveline though,65 and later is a slip yoke.it also it is a cable operated shifter,it will bolt up to a 440,better off putting the correct trans in!
