That helmet is beautiful but doesn't quite meet my needs
I wanted one rated SA2020
and that one is way beyond my price range too

I understand. It is SNELL rated, and it was the first top of the line model redesign by Shoei in 10 years as its predecessor was that good. I was impressed by its engineering design and the color scheme was impossible to resist. One of my priorities other than safety is ventilation, and the X-12 has that covered very well.
