I suspect there is some sentimental attachment to that store for you DeltaV? Growing up in the 50s & 60s, I remember well our neighborhood Mom 'n Pop corner store and hanging out there whenever I had a nickel to spend.

none of them exist in Australia, the big stores made it impossible. when I grew up there was one on every corner
