I suspect there is some sentimental attachment to that store for you DeltaV? Growing up in the 50s & 60s, I remember well our neighborhood Mom 'n Pop corner store and hanging out there whenever I had a nickel to spend.
No, not that specific store. However, it does remind me of one in my hometown neighborhood in the '50s and '60s. I'll always remember the screened entry door with its imprinted "Wonder Bread" advertising, as well as the wide planked floor. No air conditioning of course.

There are still quite a few of these "convenience stores" scattered around Georgia. Some are still in use today for other business (e.g., florist). Others not open for business look like they are being used for storage while others have seen better days. Also, there are other old structures here in Georgia that pumped gasoline like this one that was for sale in 2018 and is now an antique store.

Tommy's in Kildare, Georgia which is a little bit south of the thriving metropolis of Newington.
