All three were extremely reliable and they all pulled hard.I had a 550, friend had the 750. He was way faster……….until the 900 Kaw.
A friend had a Honda 750 and I had a Kawasaki triple two-stroke 750. We were screwing around one day and he asked me: how does that bike run from me like that? Let's trade bikes. We traded, but he wasn't driving it right and said he still didn't understand how it was faster. I told him you have to stand on the pegs and drive it like you're beating a dirtbike. I said get on the back I'll show you how to do it. I got into the power band and let it go. He then said the rear foot pegs should have one that folds up, and one going down so you could use your foot to hang on.They were fantastic bikes that needed very little attention to run forever. I have a friend that still has the first bike that he bought new, a 750.
My good friend had the 500 kawasaki and I had a sportster. I used to trade for a change. That thing doesn't turn on till about the time the Harley was done. It was like running a chainsaw and you better be hanging on. If you hit it at about 3 grand, it would bog down and load up till it cleared it throat and then it was rocket time. It's a totally different machine!A friend had a Honda 750 and I had a Kawasaki triple two-stroke 750. We were screwing around one day and he asked me: how does that bike run from me like that?
