I normally have two or three pair of them fellas kick'n around here. They follow me all around the yard, looking to see what I'm up to next. They love it when I'm stacking wood for the winter. It becomes their own private resort hotel, and a safe haven from the Falcons that frequent the property as well.

A friend hunted with a falcon about that size. One day he showed up with two fine cuts on his cheek next to his eye. He said his bird was hungry and pissed off. He had to maintain a certain weight as too heavy and the bird didn't care about hunting, too light and it went for his eye in anger. His bird was less than 1/2 pound.

Yeah, small hawks and falcons don't weight very much. That can't afford too.
We get the bigger guys here too, but they're usually on the lookout for a chicken dinner from one of the neighboring properties.
These guys are normally hunting up Chipmunks, Red Squirrels, or Doves.
I live in the mountains, so my backyard usually has more critters hanging around than a zoo most of time.

Some of them are quite large... I took this guys picture in the backyard standing 15 feet away.
