Government schools could do a better job of teaching anything - except maybe "pronouns". When my grandma was in what we would call junior high, they were teaching Latin. [required] Now, remedial reading is one of the big classes in college.
Actual/accurate history has not been taught in this country for 150 years or so. 90% of 'history' taught here since WW2 is inaccurate and spun to fit the narrative. It is up to the individual who cares to research for himself sadly. Even more sadly, very few care. Hence, the downward spiral of society and the complete ignorance of the past.
Absolutely no one, LEAST OF ALL ME, is amused at your ancestors tribulations. In fact, I m usually at the forefront of those telling these stories and pointing out how they have been ignored. [again, as it doesnt fit the narrative] It is precisely your ancestors who built this nation and who were the target demographic if you will that the Founders eventually encoded in our founding documents. Suggest you read them sometime to see exactly how the country started and its intent. More interestingly, read the charters of the various states. Ironically enough, one side of my family came from the same place at around the same time as yours; they might have even known each other...
Your ancestors [nor mine] were the third world detritus that has been foisted upon the US [and canada, Western Europe, Australia etc] since 1965 in this country. 99.9% come only to suck the taxpayer dry, rob rape and murder. This can be shown not only anecdotally, but mathematically ; interestingly just today I saw figures released about the cost of the 'somalian' community as well as the criminality. [youll hafta look for it as cnn/abc/cbs/allthesame sure won't show it] In fact, the "government" has made it extremely difficult since that time for those who are indicated in the original writings or kin to the settling stock of this nation to even immigrate. One must ask why...
As for manners, mine are fine, but some do not appreciate truth. Plus, I believe you missed my point anyway. Oh well.
And btw...Im from the South, so I know what "bless your heart" is ofttimes "code" for...
