So as we all know not too long ago I had a big discussion over what the real 1971 Roadrunner head was made. I had a lot of rude people talking crap just because they said it was plastic and I said I wanted documentation. They called me all kinds of stupid and names an so on because they couldn't provide the documentation and said ALL metal birds were repops. So they told me to pull the roadrunner heads off of my friends roadrunners who said the real ones were metal. And compare and that the metal ones don't have a serial number. So I followed your advice. I pulled 4 roadrunner heads. All metal. Well guys. You were wrong. All that high and mighty smack talk for what? Lmao. The metal roadrunner heads also didn't come in a box like the one on eBay. They came in a paper envelope. And they didn't have the bolt on the back like "NOS" one with the box on eBay either. My friend also has a 383 auto Survivor that I pulled a head off of. Metal. And the more I thought about it, why would they make the repop out of metal? Unless the original one was metal. They wouldn't make a metal repop of a plastic bird. It way more expensive, in materials, heating metal cost way more than melting plastic. Just ddnt make sense. I mean seriously, why would they make a metal repop of a plastic piece?? Well here it is for you guys that were so smart that you literally threw fits lmao. No hard feelings though ;) image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

He also said he was there when they came out. He had one, and he had dozens of those birdheads back then when they were on the streets and that they were all metal. He also went on to tell me that the first 500 birdheads were plum crazy purple and then the factory changed them to violet so there are 2 colors of bird heads and the plum crazy ones are the rarest. He told me a bunch of other stuff I can't remember too like the number of RR's and about Warner Bros. and them pulling the plug on the head production and like an hour of stuff just on the heads. He also said that the molds got sold to the birdheads and since they own the molds that they can sell the plastic ones as NOS because they came from the original molds. But he said all the real ones are metal.

If I remember right butterscotch, you were one of the main members here to climb all over this poor guys back. I think all of you MOPAR GODS should be banned until you apologize to Moparalysis. But of course the mods can't have their buddies made to look like AS...nope not going to do it, (I would get banned while many others get away with cursing). Anyway, while the mods buddies are made to look like fools. Sometimes you guys make me want to sell my Satellite/Roadrunner clone and go back to Chevys. I've never seen a fellow Chevy lover as I am, (along with Mopars), berate fellow enthusiasts the way you "mopar or no car" guys do. I came to this forum to get away from this crap over at Moparts, but it is getting the same over here. A guy wanting to know some information that he doesn't have that others may have, but just wanting some proof to back it up wasn't too much to ask for in my opinion. Because you MOPAR GODS think you have all the answers and no one should ever question your knowledge is garbage. Hmmmm, maybe there will be a sweet 69' SS Chevelle in my future.

I knew they were all full of crap, because as I stated before I sold a metal one with p/n and pentastar just like that on ebay a few years ago that needed the paint touched up on it.

He got plenty of help. No one berated him until he started a completely new thread (this one) to shove it in everyones face that he thinks he was right. Obviously there are differing opinions of whether it was plastic or metal. Right or wrong there is no need for this thread. The kid was immature and couldn't just say thanks. He had to start name calling and being a jerk. There are a few other threads that he started and got help right away.

Poke the bear and people get riled. If you blame them for that then that's on you. Enjoy the chevy.

Wrong, if you read the original post from the beginning a couple members started giving him crap because he didn't take their "opinion" as gospel. If you saw it any other way your just wrong. What I saw he posted in the 2nd post, just the first part before the deletions, was pretty compelling that he was right. I would say you guys jumped on him again and he told you what you could do with it. As would I. And yes if get the Chevrolet I certainly will enjoy it.

I didn't jump on anyone. I didn't have an opinion on which was right or wrong. He asked a question and every time he got an answer he didn't like he requested "concrete" evidence in black and white. This is an INTERNET forum, i.e. there is no concrete on here other then irs.gov. If he was that hell bent he should have went to a dealer. But to me there was plenty of evidence either way. He just picked the answer he wanted and badgered the ones that disagreed. As in, starting this thread, when in fact he had no "concrete" evidence. But there were about 15 posts saying it was OEM plastic, seems like it was not 100% metal every time.

Anyone can tell by his wording and incessant use of "lol" after everything that he was either a kid or had the maturity of one. Nobody jumped on him until he called someone else a douche.

You can see the only comments I made in his first thread was about wanting the red head bird with the cigar. I never agreed or disagreed with him. In this thread he flat out called me a liar and said I was bashing him along with everyone else. I actually thought he might of had a valid point until that happened and then I didn't care what his point was and I still didn't bash him although he pissed me off then. He has no social skills what so ever and was not going to stop until he got the answer that he wanted. I'm in no way a Mopar god, just a smoe that's owned over 300 of them. There are a lot of people that know so much more then me and I'm always learning something new. I've also owned a lot of Chevys and Fords too, lol.

The Velocity Channel has a show "Graveyard Carz". Im sure many have seen the show. They proclaim that Mark Worman is "Mopar Master". Contact him. If its STILL isnt good for you, and you want "official documentation", good luck with that one.

Now that's funny, if you call Mark with that or any real resto question the 5 minute silence would be him dialing up Tony Dagostino to get the correct answer!

Just for the record, I do not know any of the moderators on this forum.

My only purpose in ever answering questions here is to help with knowledge I've gained over the years. I have no want or need to feel superior with this knowledge.
I didn't climb all over his back. Look at my posts. 1st post answered his question. 2nd post gave him my credentials for why I had this information. 3rd post explained why I doubted he would ever find something in writing from Chrysler on the subject and what most of us use as the best information (survivor cars) for factory correct. After my 3rd post this was part of his response "Sounds like you got issues. If your just going to run it then find another thread. Try some breathing exercises or something."
At that point I realized he was baiting me and I chose to stop.
I choose to do the same now with this thread...
