i tucked the bumpers on my 74 as well. it was fine on the 71-72's but the filler strip bothered me even back in the day! i did the same thing back in 81 0n my first 73 se! i use the early rear brackets then i slot the fronts to get it where i need it. i takes some time but it looks so much cleaner! you know the design team did not want big rubber knobs for bumper gaurds and rubber strips between the body and the bumpers it ws for the 5 mph crash testing.
