Recover your own seats.

I went through a vendor, Dantes? Maybe I was lucky, black '69 buckets, had them almost right away. Get a real pair of hog ring pliers and hog rings. Any farm supply store should have them.

Hog rings do vary somewhat.
I had a couple bags from Amazon that had a slight kink in the top. They were easier to crush and came out more round when going around a heavy wire on the frame.

Did mine front buckets about 1.5 years ago. Ordered from legendary, took 8-9 months to get them. I also ordered foam and the installation kit. I watched the legendary videos and a couple YouTube also. I took lots of pictures while taking them apart. A couple things: I switched the carpet to black and had some trouble getting some for the bottom of the doors because I didn’t order everything together. When I got the seat foam there was a bunch of scrap foam with them. Don’t throw it away. I should have put some extra in the edge of the insert area to fill it out more. They are fine the way they are but could have been just a little bit better. But my rear seats and door cards are all original and look decent. It’s just a driver. Oh and if you need seat backs order them at the same time as the cover too.

They look great.

Is the roundness better or doesn't matter?

Doesn't matter. Real hog rings are a little larger in diameter. For the cost and convenience for them at a farm store, hands down the way to go for me. They do have different sizes, think that I used the red box. One hundred rings for $4 or so. The pliers are inexpensive too.

Tractor supply sells what I need?

DO NOT buy cheap hog rings from Amazon. They are Chinesium imitations made from thinner gauge metal and are too short to work properly. Very frustrating. I ran short of the Legendary ones and needed some in a hurry.

I did the front and rear seats in my 64 Valiant convertible and they are perfect. I get compliments all the time.

I ordered a complete headliner to carpet interior from Legendary in January for my 69 Charger. Everything! (20% off sale) If you place the order at a big Mopar show when they are there, you get 20% discount. Some of the in stock items arrived right away with other things staggered over 5 shipments. The seat covers were last because they are not usually stocked but are made after they receive the order. Even so I think it only took 8 weeks to arrive.

One tip I got from a video on covering bucket seats. Put a yard-sized garbage bag over the seat, then pull the bag over it. The new cover will then slip on quite easily.

Tractor Supply should have them, just ask.

Done a number of my cars.
Buy the good pliers and rings.
A few things I learned:

I bought the straight and 90 degree pliers, never used the 90.
If the old covers have the metal rod inserts save and reuse in the new covers.
If the original foam is in very good shape, and molded, consider reusing. Mine was not, but I 'carved' foam to match.
Burlap works well, but I also went to a craft store and bought a 3" wide burlap roll. Hog ringed it on like the old school beach folding chairs. Provided more better support.
Put seat covers out in sun for as long as possible.
Bench seat bottom, flipped over on large blanket covered table, board on top, large plastic ratchet clamps, made pulling the cover over it too easy.

Has anyone tried to install new foam and seat covers? Theres a guy on YouTube who has a video on it. Maybe with some time and allot of patience I can get it done myself.
Well I gave it a try. Had some issues. I used Legendary covers and PUI foams. That’s what Classic Industries sent me. They seemed a little tight. Both bottoms in one corner ripped thru on one side. Big ring ripped right out after crimping it. And on the tops I couldn’t work out wrinkle. Other than that they are nice and tight and are much better than the ripped to shreds stuff that was on there. I did notice, the tear in the corners was also there on one of the old covers.

I did mine on the bird.

These were my first ever and likely my last recover......

I didn't my own recently. Pui covers.

I did mine lol last spring.

If you can afford it, pay someone to do them.

I did the seats in my red on red 69 Coronet R/T years ago.

I’ve done a couple cars over the years

My rear seat was mint so I only recovered the buckets.

I've redone the seats in my Charger a couple of times

Did my own on my 69 GTX

I did my 65 Belvedere 2 years ago with Legendary covers.

Did mine front buckets about 1.5 years ago.

Well I gave it a try.
Nice job guys, they turned out awesome. I might give it a try myself.

My rear seat was mint so I only recovered the buckets. If you take your time it’s not difficult…

How did the black compare with the back seat that you left alone. I have a similar situation on my GTX and some photos I see shows a different sheen. I dont need perfect but I dont want a big difference either.

The match was very good in my opinion…
