Back in 1980, a used car dealer in Bordentown, NJ, had a bunch of 'cudas, Barracudas, Challengers, and Chargers (they also had lots of other brand muscle cars, but I wasn't interested in them, so I don't really remember what they had of those) and I was looking for a Barracuda. They had a '68 Formula S fastback with a 383 and I really loved that car. Somehow, I wound up buying a red '68 convertible. I quickly realized that I am definitely not a convertible person. I kept that car for a few months before leaving it as a trade in on an '80 LeBaron coupe. Years later, I saw that same Formula S parked outside an electronics store in Maryland. I know it was the same car because I went in, found the owner, and asked him if he bought it at Horseless Carriages in Bordentown. If I'd bought the fastback, I'd probably still have it. Although, oddly, I wish now that I'd kept the convertible but only because it would have gained value. I probably never would have really liked it.
Other cars were the Superbird I could have had for $6000 back in '81, but didn't have nearly that much money. However, I wasn't terribly disappointed over the Superbird as it had the standard bench interior with column shift and, from behind the wheel, had all the charm of a taxi. I could have bought a rust-free '71 GTX shell with air grabber hood for $1200 in the mid-'80s but stupidly passed on it. A couple of years after that, I could have had a rust-free '71 Charger R/T that had one damaged fender and a spun bearing for $3500.
