Guys,

One of my seat upholstery buttons has fallen off its metal base with the split prongs. I have some new buttons, but how to fit the button without pulling the upholstery apart? Has anyone done this? Is there an easy way to replace the button? I figured there may be a way just to replace the vinyl button, without replacing the entire unit.

The only way is to remove some of the hog clamps to get access to replace. Then reattach the cover to the frame...

I did too. I think it is a common issue on 69 Charger seats. Bad design imo.

Too easy. I just reached under the seat and could reach the pin and depressed washer. I crushed the remains of the button with pliers, then cut it down to size with tin-snips and pulled the old button through the underside of the seat cushion. I re-used the depressed washer, but cut a slot in it for the new button prongs to pass through. Then just fed the new button from the top through the upholstery, through the depressed washer, and bent the split prongs to hold it in place. Done!!

So I could not find item number for these from Legendary and mine feel like they have the pins pushed over, nothing detected under the cushion at all. Pushing the new one in, can push the pins over ok?
Thanks
