Replacing Geared Hose Clamps With Factory Style.

non-hardening gasket cement that I've been using for over 45 years. Small brown bottle, with a sponge-ball on the applicator as you unscrew the top.

Also known as gasket shellac.

I'm going to give it a try. It's ordered and on the way.

Strange, I’ve seen countless original Corbin clamp installation failures at the dealers back then. Failure rates so high, every dealer I worked at then had strict policies against re-using Corbin type clamps while performing any repairs, screw clamps only.

I've never heard that.

I also never use or need sealant.

I've reused the sheet style on my Dakota almost a dozen times.

The rod style on my Satellite were cheap (likely chinese) ebay units and they've been reused as well.

No leaks.

Interestingly, my Satellite does have one factory screw clamp on the bypass hose and an access hole in the AC bracket to get to it.

Would be almost impossible to get to a corbin in that location.
