Any good/bad experiences out there with the reproduction big block HP exhaust manifolds from Year One Mopar Parts ? Thanks, Dick
Had a set and my friend has them on his 70 GTX no problems and fit well. The one downside is that Year One decided to cast their Y1 into the inside of each manifold. But thats just for the keen eyed people to rip you over. Sadly they didnt do the Y1 subtle either its pretty big in the casting.
^^^^^^ The real deal can be found still today and at a fair price but you have to look!! Yep, I am NOT a YearOne guy!!
I'm just trying to avoid any issues with hidden cracks, warpage, ect. Don't want to have to pull the motor on a freshly painted car. 64 Polara R/T. I do have a couple of local sources for used ones. Thanks for the comments
I cant see why anyone would buy repros when good originals are easy to find. and as far as year one casting their Y1 logo on them just grind it off if it offends....
The engine if offset to the passenger side leaving no room to get the manifold off the studs. The passenger side hp manifold (some years) is prone to cracking and unless you want to attempt a repair in place the engine has to be raised a crazy amount to gain the room for manifold removal. Others may chime in but this is what I have been led to believe.
So you take loose the engine mount and jack the engine up to clear on that side....? Wouldn't be the first time.
