Retirement Resurrection Belvedere

Okay, moving along, moving along...we proceded to clean everything up and get her ready for her fresh new look. As I mentioned earlier, this was not a restoration becasue of the condition of the body and the original paint. The engine bay did need a respray because of a poor rattle can attempt, but the rest was just cleaned and preserved.

Floors are solid as you can see. Surprised to see it this clean under the tank.

K frame and suspension to be removed next.

Some scrap angle iron and casters to build some simple dollies to move car around the shop without suspension.

On to K frame to Oil pan fitment, which can be a problem on these early B Bods. Front suspension clean up and rebuild. And on to assembly, of the whole shabang!
This particular pan, a Moroso I have had for years is built off of a donor 971.

A small relief is needed for the sump off center to the right. Cut and re weld.

Got some clearance Clarance!

Arms were pretty clean, and I could not find any traces of black paint, so I ended up just spraying clear on them.

Great simple method to push out the bushing! Weld a heavy washer on it and press her out. BUT, be careful not to weld
the washer to the arm!

A trip to Menards for a Nipple, cap, and a reducer bushing, so it can get the depth needed to press it in.
Not OSHA approved.... but worked as designed!

Details on front end components and setting up temporary alignment if you could please. :)

I'll be doing mine in the near future. The last drive it started to sound like a Ford Maverick! (Remember them?) Sweak squeak

I certainly can.

What a nice solid car, I like it. You going to have it all bolted together for Mopars in the Park next weekend?

Thank you. I was very fortunate to find this rust free Cali car. It's been done for a while, I just stopped posting the build, due to some unpredictable circumstance. Maybe I can pick it back up when I get caught up. No Gas budget for the trip to mopars in the park.
