Rocker Repair Question

I started removing the 1972 Charger rear quarter for replacement. It is pretty obvious that I am going to need an outer wheelhouse. My concern is the rotted area under the quarter in front of the wheel well. Is this part of the rocker? I see they sell rockers but am unsure if they come all the way back to the wheel house. Also is the section in the back something that just needs to be fabricated? I think I am in a little over my head

You can buy rockers and as far as I know, the Challenger ones at least, go back into there. I however fabricated my own repair sections in there and the front since they will never be seen as they are covered by the quarter and the main length my rockers were good.

Thanks for the detailed post looks like a nice repair and I will attempt the same. One question on your patch did you weld the bottom seam or wait and weld with the quarter panel in place?

In the second to last pic you can see I drilled and plug welded 4 spots. If I recall correctly, I was just copying what I found as I took it apart.

i'm way too ****
when i see rust like that,
i have nightmares that that panel is ready to burst on the other end
and i open it all up and replace the whole dam thing
i have replaced complete inner and outer rockers
and i even have nos rocker panels to install
i have 2 of them in my parts pile.
the one car i have has rust in other areas
so i took a donor clip with inner/outer rocker,door jam and
kick panel all attached together.
i need to blast it next.

Mlite do you have a source for the outer wheel tubs? I need a set for my 67 but am yet to locate a mfg... Thanks

i don't think they repo that part?
i'm not a 67 guy so i don't know for sure.
you might have to search around for a used one.
a wanted ad on here might even find you one.
