Hey guys! I've got a 1964 383 engine I'm rebuilding. It has 906 heads I put on.I have bought different shafts and rockers as by the pic the old ones look wore. wondering if these are the same rockers? If they are the same is the one on the left OEM or aftermarket? It has I710+ stamped on it. It say's stock they are 1.5.1 I'm running them with a 284/484 cam they look the same to me! will they work for this combination? thanks in advance!!

You have to be careful on the lifter cup and rocker cups. As I recall the pushrod tips are different sizes. Your older lifters would have the smaller cup and the 906 rockers would have the larger cup. Like I said as I recall. Need to read up on it.

ok sorry forgot to ad that. I bought new pushrods because the old ones were narrow on the one end just wondered if these rockers are the same they look it to me but the one has I710+ stamped on it thank you

My understanding: 1967 & earlier engines had prods that had a small end [ 1/4" ]; small end went into the lifter, not the rockers. The rockers [all] accepted the 5/16" push rod end. I have seen rockers with different #s over the years. Maybe not made by Chrys, but by an outside supplier & that is their logo/#

The worn rocker looks to me to be in great shape. I would reuse those if they are all in comparable condition. Of course, the shafts must share that condition.

I have the shafts for both new and old. I thought I'd use the new ones because the engine is all new and the new ones would fit with a little less play

Yes , in your first picture , the one on the left is a stamped oem rocker arm

However in your first picture , the one on the left is a right offset rocker arm , the one on the right is a left offset rocker arm so in theory not identical

Does that make sense

Worn , hard to tell

But they look like ****

Why would you put used old rockers and shafts on a newly rebuilt motor anyways

I ran Sealed Power stamped rocker arms and shafts on my 383 with the 284/484 Camshaft and Lifters for over 25 years

Melling sells stamped rockers and I think 440 source sells stamped as a kit

Stay away from Elgin

Sealed Power doesn’t anymore

The answer is yes. It’s a stamped steel rocker as OEM were. The wear on your old ones looks normal. If you have a new engine use your new stuff. Beware, There are left and right rockers.

If your engine is new and you are running a near 500 lift cam like you are perhaps you should consider adjustable rockers anyway? 440 source has ductile iron ones for around $300.

If the valve tip pad is worn/indented, you can re-furbish the tip by rubbing them with 180 wet & dry emery. Have done it many times
