Screwed on the roof rails today, tomorrow gonna put on that flexible, soft, rubbery gasket. I understand the top of the gasket gets squeezed inside the roof rail somehow, but I wonder about the flap of rubber on the bottom of the seal, does that get squeezed by the A-pillar plastic moulding, the metal middle moulding above both windows, and the rear window moulding that is shaped like a boom-a-rang? Or does it get folded or glued to the roof rail bottom somehow? If so, glue it inside the roof rail or wrap it around the bottom outside edge of the roof rail? I hope someone understands what I am talking about.

And one more question, does this weatherstrip seal/gasket get stuck on with adhesive all over the contact surfaces so there is no second chance or will it stay in place on its own (without adhesive) while I adjust the windows and make sure it's right? Thank you.

that front flap should have a plastic pin that holds it into place
just below the pillar
there should be a small hole there for it.

Thanks flypaper, you are almost always first to help me out. I know there are four pins in the very front of the gasket, but what I am asking about is the bottom of the gasket along its entire length, I know it doesn't just hang there, so does it fold under the moldings that I mentioned above or does it only get glued to the stainless roof rail some how?

it is supposed to tuck inside that rail and be glued at the same time
that is why it always gets destroyed when you take it out.

OK so I gather the entire gasket fits inside the roof rail (top and bottom), and the other moldings in the vicinity don't have anything to do with securing the gasket?
