Folks, the channels for the roof rail weatherstrip. Couple questions

any particular type screw I have to use? I have the rails and can see the old screw marks, but was curous if the screw head had to be anything special.

Do I use any sealer behind them? They still have the rubber strip on the back of them that looks intact?

Is there any kind of adjustment I need to do or do I just screw them back in place?

Last question, I test fitted the new Metro barnd seal in the channel and it is so loose. Do this not fit these cars well? I think I have it in the channel right.

Sorry guys, this car has been apart a long time. I can get pictures if needed.

Thanks

What are they going in? I replaced the seals in my '73 SE with Metro's and all fit perfectly. Mine had a stainless gutter that the seal edge slipped into. The screws that held it were short phillips. Don't know the size, they were already there. I did add some sealant under the end on the A pillar, only because of the contour of the door frame.

Sorry, I left that out. It is a 73 Satellite. I know the SE seals are different. These just seem like they fit really loose into the channel. I am going to a friends Mopar scrap yard later to look at a factory one again. this car has been apart for a while and I just got it back from paint.

Thanks

Surley folks ahve changed these. I called Metro today and basically all they could tell me is that I have the right seals. I didn't get a chance to look at the cars at my friends, but will this weekend.

There were some screws that I removed while doing the re-roof of my RR. They are basically a pan-head, sheet metal screw. They are popularly used for securing steel wall studs. Any carpenter buddy should be able to hook you up for free.

they are the same screws they use on wheel well trim. about a half inch long and with a head that looks like a 3/8 washer made to it. fenderwell trim screws work great.
