Hello B Bodies Only I'm trying to find my Dad's 1968 Road Runner traded in 2005 at the fall Auburn Auto Auction to a gentleman from the Detroit, Michigan area who was retired from GM. This is the Typical story often heard ...My father and I build this car together and he passed away in 2018 and I would like to get it back for sentimental reasons.
The car when sold had a 472 stroker motor, 727 Trans and a Dana 60. The car had several custom features like an exposed trunk mounted 20 gal aluminum fuel cell, oil cooler mounted where the Battery tray originally was, white gauge cluster, custom center console with Hurst aluminum pistol grip shifter and GTX bucket seats. The Vin number is RM21H8A195707. IMG_3957.JPG IMG_3956.JPG IMG_E3955.JPG IMG_0530.JPG IMG_0533.JPG

Very nice. Good luck on your search. I can fully appreciate your sentimental attachment to the car.

Yes the ones I’ve tried won’t accept the older Vin numbers with 13 digits

With some help from a Lost Muscle cars Facebook Page it looks like it was Titled in Battle Creek, Michigan on September 13, 2005 if that helps narrow down the location.

UPDATE: I was able to locate the previous owners wife from 2005, the husband passed away in 2010 and they lived in Battle Creek, Michigan, she titled the car in her name in 2016. I spoke with her on the phone and all she could remember is that she used a car dealer/ broker in the Battle Creek Michigan area to sell the car and that it sold pretty quick. She didn't not remember the name of the shop she used.

Good news is that you know it is not crushed because of the recent sale. Bad news is that if it went through a broker there is a good chance it went overseas. Let's hope not though.

Good luck on your search! Hang on to the memories! I remember the 55 Chevy bel air my dad purchased in the Detroit area around 1977. I was 6 or 7 years old when I went with him to drive it home. He sat on an egg crate bc the front seats weren't there and i sat on the floor!! My father loved to buy and sell cars in the 70's. He had many great mopars too..
