This is a feature article I wrote for a Mopar Club back in ‘12 and a club update that includes the demise of the General Lee.
The ‘68 Charger was spotted down in a gully as our vehicle rounded the narrow gravel road in 2012. There was a small stream running steeply down hill that it was resting over. Around 2018 I again rounded that same corner and the Charger was still there. This time I did stop at the nearest single wide trailer and knocked on the door, several times. Again knocked several times, nothing. I turned to leave when the window curtain moved ever so slightly. It was early afternoon, what would you do? I turned and knocked again and the door opened slowly. Oh crap, it turned out not to be the owner and he ended up being cordial about my intrusion. He said the owners moved away and he didn’t know any more. He did say others had pestered him before about it. I plan on checking on it again sometime but if any of you know about it please keep it a secret.
Bubba Watson is a pro golfer who also like the Dukes of Hazzard show like many of U.S.
Apologizes for the small print. Confession of a Mopar Junkie

Can you get a bonded title? We do that with some of the abandoned bikes at my shop.

Hopefully I’ll get back there this year to see if it’s still there but I don’t think it’s in an area you can just take it.
I believe it’s on private property and there are houses close by. Neighbors who know about it and watch out for their own.
I did run into a local close by, who’s Uncle had about 100 old cars. The Uncle moved them to the deep back woods because too many people were stopped by and he didn’t like being pestered. The Uncle wouldn’t even sell his nephew the ‘70 Cougar he longed for.
Maybe 2020 is the year to make a connection on that Charger, but I like just knowing where some of these gems are resting.

drag it out and take it home. part it . At the very least your cleaning up the woods

Not meant in a judgemental way, but you have trespassed once, do it one more time and get the VIN. Then don't go back until you own it. If people are watching, they may be encouraged to do something themselves if they think someone else is making headway.
Start sleuthing to find the last registered owner. If they are MIA, go to the county and find who owns the car and who owns the land and who owned the land in 2012. In some States, a vehicle that is abandoned can be titled by the land owner. Might be cheaper and more likely successful, when you find the land owner, to buy the land and get the title yourself.
When asking, I would only call it an old car (cars if there are more than one) setting on the property, not a super hot collectible they should finally take an interest in.
If you make a deal to own it, do not leave until you have put money, at least $1, in the hands of whomever has the right to sell. It is not a done deal until a "consideration" has been made.

From the early winter of ‘14 another article from a newsletter, my ‘70 Superbee and Christine!
Apologies for the eye test.
