Well, looks like I'm going to eat it on an AMD fender that I bought through Summit Racing. Fender was shipped FedEx freight in a huge box, but also had form fitted cardboard fastened to the fender. I did open the box and inspected the fender for damage...no marks on any cardboard so I signed for delivery. Big mistake!
Pulled the formed cardboard off later and found a nice 6x6 dent in the upper mid portion of the fender. I filed a concealed damage claim with FedEx, waited 15 days, and received an investigation report stating that they'd pay $40 based on $1 per pound.
I blame myself, but want to prevent this from ever happening again. If you inspect a fender and find damage before accepting delivery........what is the best way to handle this?
