65 Coronet looking for a full set of shocks. Has a 440 based max wedge stage lll top end. 4.10 gears and ill probably go with some super stock springs. Car is mainly a street car but I will take it to the track next year for sure and want to be competitive. What shocks would you recommend for this combo. Would super stock springs be ok I need new ones .

A good street shock and a good 1/4 mile shock aren't the same. The rears... sort of, but the fronts no.

Yup.... Question is, do you accept poor street manners for a couple trips to the track? Or do you trade a couple tenths for good street manners...

I drive on the street a lot more than the track... I run Bilstiens...

It's funny, when I was younger my mission was remove anything that slowed the car down, trade drivability & street manners for straight line performance...

These days my cars have A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, one has cruise control... Everything works & they have great street manners... Still runs respectable but if I were serious about going fast I'd build something designed with going fast as it's only intent...

I don't like accepting or trading off, but if I had to have a car do 2 completely different things , buy 2 different correct shocks

Was thinking about the double adjustable Viking shocks but ive never had an adjustable set. Wasn't sure if id be wasting money

It’s not a waste of money if you really want them. The founder of Viking Performance, which manufactures Viking shocks, is a former executive from QA1

I run S/S and I like them a lot on my RR

I have Competition Engineering adjustable drag shocks on my ‘69 GTX. They are set at 50/50 on the rear which is equipped with 3800# SS springs and an adjustable pinion snubber. Fronts are set at 90/10. I wouldn’t bomb a cloverleaf with this setup but it actually rides and drives pretty nice on the street.
