Hi all,

This forum has been awesome in helping on this project. I greatly appreciate all the help!

One question that I'm hoping someone has the answer for here. I'm looking to install the shoulder belts in my car. I have the belts and everything needed but what I thought was simple has me stumped. If someone has theirs installed and could send me a couple of pictures with the belts tucked in place as well as with the belts pulled out it should become clear how to do this correctly.

See the attached photo without the belts installed. The round grayish hole to the left is where the belt bolts on.

Any help here appreciated.

Thanks,

Wayne

Between the snap and the first clip hidden under the headliner is a threaded hole for the end of the belt to anchor to. Use a small stick pin to locate the hole.

The belt folds up and tucks behind the 2 keepers to the right of the hole in your pic.

Bump from the dead.

I need to install the shoulder belts in my car. Do all cars have the location for mounts under the headliner? I just want to make sure before I start poking holes lol
The shoulder belt and retaining clips can all be installed with the headliner already in place?
TIA!

Yes, they are installed after the headliner is in place. Just use a pin to poke around - it won't hurt anything.

It depends on the year of the car. Early ones, like my 65, have no structure for a belt in that area. No idea on 66/67's. 68/9 no clue either. 70 they started putting those in. Others will chime in with knowledge. What year is yours?

Originally, this was a thread regarding a Superbird. I assumed kaj750 was talking about the same car, or at least the same year. 69 B Bodies are the same.

1969. I assumed all b-bodies would be the same, but maybe not.
Shouldn't be too hard to find out, though.
I'll give it a poke and see if I can't find the pointing points.

Does anyone trust a vendor for reproduction belts? I only need the shoulder portion (I have the receptacles for the shoulder installed, just not using) but will buy a full set of I have to.
Probably wouldn't hurt, actually.

Thanks, guys!
